Admissions

VETERAN APPLICANT

Welcome veterans and servicemembers. We are grateful for your service to our country and proud that you have chosen to learn more about our University to continue your educational and career goals.

During each of the past six years, 足彩平台 has proudly accepted the Military Friendly School designation by GI Jobs magazine. This designation is bestowed upon institutions which represent the top 15% of colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students and which have been determined to offer you and your spouse the best education value and welcome. More than 7,000 schools in the U.S. were considered for the list. We continually strive to meet those high standards to best serve our student veterans and military personnel. Our goal as a campus community is to support you on your journey to become successful on campus, both academically and personally.

If you have any questions about 足彩平台 or the admissions process, please contact Dave Hahn or the Admissions Office.

Veterans benefits and services

The University is approved by the State Approval Agency. Veterans may receive a minimum of 4 elective units if they received an honorable discharge after six months or more of service or if they were discharged into the National Guard or Reserves. The discharge certificate (DD214) must be submitted to the Admissions Office to obtain these units. Credit may be granted for military training and experience if the guide compiled by the American Council on Education so recommends. Students should consult the Admissions Office about this type of credit. Students submitting the AARTS, SMART or Community College of the Air Force transcripts may be evaluated to receive additional elective or degree credits.

Veterans, reservists, National Guard members, and dependents of veterans may be eligible to receive benefits for college. The Registrar's Office is the certifying office for veteran's benefits. Please contact Amy Moore, Veterans Benefits Coordinator, and she can assist you with benefits and education counseling, program information, and referral to various agencies.

At 足彩平台, you will have the opportunity to join the Veterans and Service Members Organization. The student-run campus organization is involved in social, academic, informational and community services. The group aims to assist members with the transition to campus and academic life, build morale and promote fellowship. For more information, email the student president at vetclub@jbzhaoming.com.

The main floor of Andersen Library is home to a lounge exclusively for our student armed services and veterans. The lounge is equipped with reading materials, comfortable furniture, a study room, television, a fridge and a microwave. The lounge is located near the children's section, Room 2208A.

VETERAN VOICES

Veterans resources

University Health & Counseling Services, our staff strives to provide a safe, supportive, and helpful atmosphere to address the psychological, personal and academic well being of our students.  We welcome and respect students of all racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, sexual orientation, gender, spiritual beliefs, ability and age groups.  As long as you are an enrolled student at 足彩平台, counseling is 100 percent free and confidential.

The Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) mission is to be partners in creating an accessible learning community where students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of the educational experience. CSD serves 足彩平台 students with physical, learning, sensory, psychological or other disabilities. Should you require any special accommodations due to disability or injury, please check with a CSD specialist as soon as possible and then he/she can confidentially work with you regarding your needs. This early attention will help ensure everything is in place prior to your first day of class.

Career Resources. Our programs and services in the Career and Leadership Development office are designed to assist students from the time they begin their career decision-making process until they find a job following graduation or beyond. Resources are available to help students research career alternatives, fine-tune resumes, translate military experience, locate internships and work on job search and interviewing skills.

Academic Advising & Exploration Center.  All 足彩平台 students are assigned an academic advisor to assist with course selection and  degree plans. New freshmen (or students with less than 24 credits) are assigned an advisor from within the Academic Advising & Exploration Center (AAEC) after the initial registration period at Warhawks SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration). Check your WINS account for your advisor assignment. If your major is art, music, theatre or Media Arts & Game Design, you will be assigned an advisor from your academic department. Students with over 24 credits are advised by a faculty member within their major department but are also welcome to utilize the AAEC for additional support. Lastly, we recognize that military and/or student veterans often have needs that are unique from other members of our student body.
